D.C. United/COS Residential Program

"A personal thanks for the wonderful job Curt Onalfo Soccer did at the recent residential camps.  Please extend my thanks to your staff.  Our children had a great time and I could tell got the proper mix of the sleepaway experience, and an excellent opportunity to hone their soccer skills.

I can also tell you that the girls from their travel teams also very much enjoyed the camp.  As their coach and assistant coach, I appreciate the competitive nature of the camp and I think helped all the girls with their personal growth maps as they prepare for select soccer at a more elite level.

Spring Skills Lessons

Fall Skills Lessons

"With the field closures and all, Fall was a tough season for my kids in McLean (I'm a U9 boys coach). However, my son attended Alex's foot skills camp and we had a super, super time with Alex. The make-up sessions were wonderful and I really appreciate you and Alex doing that, no questions asked.  My son had a really good time with Alex...he also has an easy-going, supportive side that made Grant feel like he accomplished and learned something with him. I appreciate that very much."

Winter Program

"This is Matthew’s 3rd Onalfo session, and the program has really improved his ball handling skills. This past fall, he was the leading scorer on his Vienna team during the regular season. In the 2nd game of the regular season when the head coach was out of town, he scored 9 goals. After that game, the coach only allowed Matthew to play 2 quarters on offense each game to keep the games fair. He was then selected for the all star team. He tied for leading scorer on that team, which went undefeated in the Herndon all star tournament and 5 pre-tournament scrimmage games. The highlight was Matthew scoring 4 goals in the 2 games in the championship round. Thanks for the good work your program does for the kids."

"Just a quick note to say that Conor is having a blast with the Winter Skills Program (Sessions A & B). The Friday night class (5:30pm) at Worldgate has been excellent. All of the coaches, especially Chris, Alex and Grant, really make it fun and challenging for the children. I have seen a tremendous improvement in Conor's foot skills and playing tactics in general. Also, his confidence as he approaches the scrimmage just soars and I notice that he feels free to try "new moves" and really "get stuck in". The Worldgate facility is terrific and it is a pleasure to watch all of the coaches (even for the older kids, and goalie camp) orchestrate practice time for the scrimmage pitch and racquetball courts. There is no down time and I really feel the coaches are true professionals and recognise that we are there to the most out of the Program. Rest assured I will highly reccomend this Program to our soccer friends."

"I really want to thank you and all of the staff of Curt Onalfo program.  They are not only professional but very nice and encouraging.  Our son was accepted to a NCSL division 4 team recently, and the coach said that he must have had a good coaching because of his good basic skills.  All I could think about was your program.  Our son was rejected by some All-Star teams and a travel team before.  It was hard for a young child to accept that he was not good enough.  But thanks to Curt Onalfo program, he never lost love for soccer and he could gain skills necessary to try for travel teams.  I know some young children who get discouraged because they cannot make to All-Star teams or travel teams.  But, thanks to Curt Onalfo programs, now there is a way for house league players to catch up with travel team players, if they want to.  Thank you so much for giving our son that opportunity."

We are a recently formed U12 Girls travel team and we are in Division three of the Old Dominion Soccer League. We finished our first season with a respectable 4-0-4 record."

Team Training

"I just wanted to let you know we won the U10 Tournament. And, I have to say, I think the big difference was having Alex Teixeira to our practice along with Mark Simpson.

We asked you to teach us how to score. Alex did just that. When we began with Alex, we were really impotent on scoring. After his training, and we practiced his skills over and over afterwards leading up to the Tournament, we began to score and we make 14 goals over 4 games and gave up only 2 goals. The low giving up part is partially Alex's result too along with Mark.

So, I just wanted to thank you, Alex, Mark, and Curt Onalfo for helping us obtain this great result."

"My U14 Boys made it to the Div. 8 championship game on 11/12/00.  William knocked in a 19-yard direct free kick from inside the penalty circle, fired a 15-yarder inside the near post and then from nearly the same position, passed 10 yards to Rex, who tapped the ball into the far post. We won 3-2.  Averell showed improved ball control and made some good passes.  Thanks for the excellent instruction."

"Please tell Curt that the practice/skill development session at Lewinsville Park could not have been more enjoyable or meaningful for our son.  Peter is a fast player with quickly developing skills -- as Curt said, "He has a game!"  We would like to see Peter continue to develop all of his interests, especially in settings and with staff who demonstrate a pro-child, self-esteem philosophy.  We were delighted with the summer camp program, and I have registered Peter for Session A,  package 3, of the winter program (at the Regency).  We feel that this will be a fun experience for him and a great way to keep his skills up  in what is normally a "down time" for soccer.  Personally, I enjoyed meeting Curt myself -- I think he is highly professional, and he showed a great deal of interest and understanding with all the boys.  Please thank him for signing Peter's soccer ball not once, but twice!"
